Festivus was “saved” at Red Dragon Brewing on 17 December 2022 by Derrick Terrick Bearick the Cleric, Ronin, and Slappy the Wizard. We played Old School Essentials – which was fun, even if THAC0 was clunky.
Gregori – the missing child the party was sent to find – turned out to be the Belsnickel, a wicked creature that terrorized townsfolk in the wintertime. He was dragged back to Seindorf, where his abusive father, Mayor Staffeldson, continued with Festivus traditions and pinned him to the floor during the Feats of Strength.
The Magister Merim, as promised, provided the heroes with various sorts of trinkets, gems, and gold for rescuing the Mayor’s son.
Rumor has it that the Belsnickel never returned to harass the villagers; the Ice Giants never again stuffed the townsfolk’s boots with candies or gifted the town with winter.
Several months later, the band of adventurers caught word from beyond the Westwyntir Mountains that a murderous and vengeful son ensured Festivus would never happen again, slaughtering all of the followers of the fringe celebration. Seindorf was left abandoned, and Gregori was never seen again.
